Take Notes. Read. Share.

Once you have your first batch under your belt, you’ll see making beer is really pretty easy. It’s making great or even good beer that brings difficulty. Taking notes and learning from your mistakes and successes will help you improve your process and ultimately your results.

There’s no substitute for repetition, but there’s plenty you can do to expand your knowledge when you’re not brewing. Read everything you can get your hands on. In addition to Serious Eats’ homebrew articles, check out John Palmer’s How to Brew, Charlie Papazian’s The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, The Brewing Network podcasts, and Zymurgy magazine, which is available to members of the American Homebrewers Association-and it alone is worth the cost of membership.

You can also look for local homebrew clubs in your area. Joining a club is a great way to hang out with other brewers with all levels of experience and get no-nonsense feedback on your beers. Chances are your friends and family will tell you that they like just about everything you make, regardless of its actual merit. And why wouldn’t they? It’s free beer for them and they want to be supportive. Sharing your beer with other brewers will give you the opportunity to learn what you did right and what you did wrong from people with a deeper understanding of how beer is made. The lessons I’ve learned in homebrew clubs have made the biggest differences in my brewing, no question.

Use a blow-off tube.

Before I ever started brewing, I read a ton of literature that talked about using blow-off tubes instead of air locks for larger beers. I should have paid attention. Whether I was using a 6.5-gallon bucket or a 6.5-gallon carboy, my bigger beers were overwhelming the airlocks almost every single time. Using a blow-off tube in place of an airlock doesn’t mean your beer won’t go bonzo; it just means that you won’t have a mess on your hands. Put one end of a tube into the top of the bung with the other tube submerged in Star San (sanitizer) and you’re set. Some krausen might work its way through the tube into your bucket of solution, so checking on this a couple of times a day and replacing the Star San isn’t a bad idea. Learn more about when to use blow-off tubes.

Commercial moving company Calgary

It’s an obvious thing to say maybe, but if you wear comfortable and practical clothes on moving day it can make all the difference.

You need to be able to move around easily, you will be on your feet all day, and you should also think about the weather as well (wear layers as you will get hotter throughout the day doing so much physical stuff, and will no doubt want to take layers off).

The last thing you want to be doing is trying to find some different clothes halfway through the move.

Remember you are not limited to colors, shapes or themes. But it can be fun to get food stickers for the kitchen, pet stickers for your pets things, flowers or frilly ones for the girls and trucks or sports for the boys. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a fun way to get the kids involved and keep them interested in their move. Have them place the stickers in the same area on each box in a visible area so that when moving day arrives it is easy for the movers to see. You will be amazed at how quickly this will help your move go if all boxes are clearly labeled and ready to go. If you have time you can have them create their labels out of construction or colored paper.

So heres a summary of what are some very useful moving tips (from Office movers) :

Does everything fit your new home?

Furniture that is in your existing home may well not fit into your new home, and it’s best to know this up front so you can sell it / donate it before you move.

Take some time to measure doorways etc. and work out whether the larger items of furniture (your sofa/dresser etc.) will fit into your new space.

There would be nothing worse than leaving a sofa on the front garden on moving day!

TIP – This is also an useful exercise for working out whether you have suitable space for all your furniture. If you are downsizing it’s worth working out what can and cannot fit into your new home, and sorting these out before moving day

Decluttering your home is a massive job in itself, and this is a job only you can do.

As such, why not take the strain off a little and get the removals to do what they are best at – and that’s to pack everything up for you.

For me, its a no-brainer for so many reasons: –

They will be insured for any breakages
They can do this SO quickly! (it’s great to watch the experts in action!)
It usually doesn’t cost a lot (a lot less than I imagined it would cost), and when you are talking about the cost of moving I think it’s an expense that’s well worth it.
It frees you up to oversee everything
They supply all boxes and packaging which will save you time and expense

By now your car will be very full! (valuables, paperwork, essentials box and a box for each child), but there’s one thing extra thats worth taking with you – and that is bedding.

If you have your bedding ready to go when you get to your home – whether you arrive late at night or have more time to unpack, you know that you have something to sleep on and be more comfortable on that first night.

After all – things can go slowly on moving day, and you may not get your keys until it’s really too late to start unpacking – so best be prepared!.

Before you rent a moving truck, find out how much you have to move to ensure you get a truck that’s the right size. A truck that is too small will mean you’ll be making several trips from the old house to the new, too large and you’ll be paying for space you don’t need. Or, if you’re moving a long distance, you may find that you have to leave stuff behind if your truck is too small. In this case, always rent a larger truck than you need just in case you miscalculated.

Before you reserve your moving truck, you need to explore truck size options available. For example, through U-Haul, you can rent a 10-foot truck, which the company states that it is suitable for a studio or one-bedroom apartment. The most substantial truck offered by U-Haul is a 26-foot truck, which may be ideal for a three to a four-bedroom house. There are multiple truck sizes in between these two extremes, and there are also trailer options available that may be suitable for towing behind your vehicle.

An important factor many people overlook is the distance of the move. If you are relocating to a new home in-town or just a short distance away, you may feel comfortable estimating your truck needs on the low end. After all, you can always make two trips if you run out of truck space. On the other hand, if you are making a long distance move, it is not practical to make multiple trips. Estimating on the higher end may be beneficial. If you get in a bind, you can always rent a trailer to tow behind your car for additional space.

The steps that you take to prepare for moving day can make or break your overall moving experience. Apply these tips to estimate better the truck size that is suitable for your needs.

Most small moving trucks have rear wheel wells that stick out and reduce the amount of flat cargo space.

Moving trucks between 14′-17′ are the most common sizes rented. They tend to be the most inexpensive trucks because of the quantity available.

We know choosing your rental truck size can be difficult, especially if your moving long distance. If you still need more help we recommend reviewing another one of our relocation guides, choosing a rental truck size. We hope that our guide to choosing the correct rental truck size was helpful for you. We leave you with some final tips and advice not otherwise covered in this blog:

If you plan to pack and load your moving truck by yourself or with help from your friends you should defer to a larger truck size. Professional movers are trained to maximize the overall space, whereas those not professionally trained may not be able to achieve the same level of efficiency. If you are considered about space consumption consider hiring moving labor to properly load your truck.

Loads of packing and moving tips to help make moving home easier.

In addition to labeling what’s in your boxes, add what room they’ll be going into, as well. When you arrive at your new home, unpack BY ROOM. The unpacking process will feel more manageable. And remember to label the SIDES of the boxes, not the tops. This way, you’ll be able to identify them even if they’re stacked.

This is a great tip for when you’re moving. Grab a black bin-liner bag and gather your hanging clothes. Put a rubber band around the hangers for some extra support if you want. Once you get to your new home, hang up your clothes and remove the bag. Easy as pie!

Decluttering is essential to do every now and then, but it’s even more important before moving house. Before even attempting to pack, you should decide what to sell, donate or throw out.

You’ll be glad of it come moving day and believe us, the removal guys will be glad that they don’t need to shift your lava lamp, inflatable chair and broken down computers.

I am not an advocate of off site storage, as it usually ends up costing money to store all the things we really don’t need – but when it comes to moving house there is good reason to use it under certain circumstances.

Often we want to do work on our new house pretty soon after moving in.

If this is the case with you, then why not consider moving some furniture etc.. into storage to make redecorating / re-carpeting etc.. easier?

You could use a storage company**, or your removals company can often store your items for you on a rolling monthly basis, which can ease the strain of having to move everything around to accommodate trades people etc.

WordPress migration services

Do you have a website that you’d like to have migrated over to WordPress? You’ve come to the right place! My team and I are WordPress migration specialists, managing small, basic migrations all the way to large-scale, multi-domain, multi-language migrations with thousands of pages of content. A basic migration is a perfect match for simple websites with little to no custom functionality and a small number of pages. I start the process with a personal consultation and a review of your website. Then, one of my team members (or myself, if I am available) begins the migration by setting up WordPress and importing over all the existing content. After that, we bring over the current design and then present the migrated site for your review.

Moving your WordPress website to a new host might seem daunting, but sometimes, you may have no better option. Many webmasters choose to migrate their websites to address important concerns, such as poor performance and lackluster customer service from their providers. Extra info about migrate wordpress site to new host

To stay organized and keep the whole migration thing under control, you need a detailed plan with deadlines. So, select a period for the move keeping in mind that you might need some extra time to finish up everything.

First, do some WordPress migration optimization. Think of it as spring cleaning for your site. Look for unwanted files: Find duplicates and files that no longer appear on the live site. Then clear out dead pages. If you have changed your design since the last migration, odds are you have pages that aren’t linked anywhere on the site. Get rid of any plugins or themes you aren’t using, too. Finally, fix any broken links and optimize your database.

When to move ? Growing Pains. Your hosting capacity should increase as your business grows. With some hosts, you may be running into hardware limitations. That’s especially true if you own the hardware. The potential expense of upgrading and replacing servers is an indicator you have outgrown your current setup.

Simply put, a WordPress migration is the process of moving a WordPress website from one server to another without affecting its functionality. There are several reasons why you would want to go ahead with this, such as:

– Migrate WordPress site to new better host. In this context, better could mean anything – for example, lower prices or faster loading times.
– Moving WordPress site to new domain.

What do we need in order to complete the transfer process?

1) Domain registrar to change DNS from old server to new one.
2) Hosting credentials.
3) WordPress website credentials.

The migration process takes a couple of hours or more. It depends on many factors such as proper domain setup and hosting configuration and file size. Source: https://wordpressmigrationservices.com/

Why visit Northern Europe countries?

Northern Europe and especially Finland is an amazing travel destination. The Little Mermaid Statue – If you have ever seen the Disney movie “The Little Mermaid” or read the original story by Hans Christian Andersen, then you know that the story is about a mermaid who trades in everything to live on land with a handsome prince. This statue was inspired by the story and sits on the Langelinie Pier of Copenhagen. It’s easily reached by foot or bike, but you can also view it on a boat tour. The statue is a must see and is often referred to as the symbol of Denmark.

Bornholm, Denmark – Scandinavia isn’t a place synonymous with beaches, but there are good ones where you can work on your tan and your swimming form (cold waters, be damned) on the tiny Baltic Sea island of Bornholm, just a 35-minute flight from Copenhagen. Known as Denmark’s sunniest locale, it’s a well-kept secret among Danes who come for the laid-back farm-to-table restaurants, picture-perfect fishing villages, and serene forest landscapes. Book a room at the minimal yet stylish Nordlandet hotel, a simple seaside inn whose jewel is an elegant Nordic dining room overlooking the sea, then set off to discover the island’s striking round churches, which date back to 1150. Source: http://budgetotraveler.com/top-travel-destinations-visit-northern-europe-countries/

Bergen and the fjords, Norway – Bergen looks like it was built for a photoshoot, but its beauty pales in comparison to the epic fjords nearby. You might find that the staggering views are rewarding enough (imagine soaring mountains reflected in mirror-smooth water), but otherwise there’s a whole host of adrenaline-pumping activities to keep you occupied. Anyone for paragliding?

Another thing you should see is a 130-meter wide panoramic view from SkyView which is a rather new attraction in the largest hemispherical spherical building on earth, the “Ericsson Globe”. Two elevators depart every 10 minutes, and the total time of the trip takes about 30 minutes. SkyView has been very popular since its inception in 2010. In the first year, it has been visited by about 160,000 passengers, so it is recommended to reserve a seat before arriving. Nearby the “SkyView”, there is a restaurant, a cafe, and a souvenir shop, for your comfort.

Copenhagen – Another place that should be high on your Scandinavian wish list is Copenhagen. If your impression of the Danish capital is of bleak, glowering streets gleaned from gloomy Scandi Noir detective series, think again. The epitome of cool, this is a trendy and welcoming waterside city with a lively and surprisingly hip cafe, bar and music scene. Europe’s cycling capital, it’s a great place to explore by bike, or by boat. From the historic 12th-century castle and grand royal palaces to the traditional Tivoli Gardens and alternative ‘free town’ of Christiania, the city’s attractions are varied. Extra info regarding http://resorthotelpro.info/2019/02/13/top-places-to-see-in-northern-europe-countries/

When walking in Copenhagen, it is basically impossible to miss the very unique and ancient building – the Round Tower. It is the viewing tower and astronomical observatory, that is connected to the academic library. The 17th-century tower has a vintage style, and the combination of yellow and red bricks create an unique design. This tower impresses not only with its shape but also with a wide corridor, that rises upwards like a spiral – this is the only way to reach the observation deck and the library hall, where various exhibitions and concerts often take place.

Aluminium photo prints

Models of picture frames we offer : Collage: There’s no reason why you can only display one photograph at a time and when you opt for a collage frame, you can easily put together a number of pictures that match the overall theme. This is a great way to display memories from an event or photoshoot as all of the pictures will have a common theme and will look amazing when displayed together. With a collage frame, you no longer need to choose the best picture to display as you can easily surround yourself with all of your favorites.

Display : Floor picture frames are going to be a lot larger than tabletop and even hanging frames are; this is so that the pictures can be seen easily once they are in the frame and on the floor. It is very common for these frames to lean, making it easy to move them from one location to another and simply lean them against the wall when you want to display your photographs. Because of their size, it’s normal for them to be collage frames and to have more than one opening for pictures. Shape : When you want something a little different to display your photographs, then you will be best off with a novelty frame. These come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and can be in the design of everything from a tree to a castle. Novelty picture frames are great if you are in the market for an interesting gift for someone you love as they often are decorated in a theme and you can find ones that will appeal to different hobbies and interests. Make sure that you have room for the novelty frame that you are considering buying as many of the hanging ones tend to be quite large.

Sintra is high-density plastic and cheaper than dibond but provides less stability for the acrylic. This may lead to some bowing of large acrylic pieces over time. Dibond, on the other hand, is more rigid, providing much greater rigidity of your print, but is more expensive. Dibond is basically a polyethylene core sandwiched by two pieces of thin aluminum and it’s the material we prefer for stabilizing your print. For smaller pieces, sintra is probably OK, but if you’re ordering larger pieces be sure that dibond is used. Another sheet of acrylic is another backing option and provides a really nice high-end look. We’ve done these types of jobs before, but similar to sintra, it should really only be used on small to medium-sized acrylic prints. For prints above about 40? or so, a full box subframe should really be used in addition to dibond to provide further rigidity for the acrylic print. See extra info at Photo prints on metal.

Materials: Wooden frames are very common and look great in most situations. They are relatively lightweight, making them perfect for hanging on the wall. In addition, they stand up well to being moved and dropped. If you do ding or damage your frame, it may simply add character and interest to it.

One perk of printing on a metal sheet? Your image will have brighter colors, more vibrant detail, and a deeper luster than the original. Also, AdoramaPix’s printing experts will inspect your picture for quality and problem areas, so you can be sure that the final product will be 100% display-ready.Besides being a higher quality image, metal prints will last longer than a regular photo print – at least 50 years, to be more specific. A photo printed on paper can fade in the light or get easily damaged, but metal prints are durable and resistant to water, weather damage, and scratches. They can also be cleaned with whatever glass-cleaning product you already have stored in your home.

We provide you with the professional photo framing materials you need to showcase the display of your clients’ valuable photography and imagery. Choose from 9 different collections of custom photo wall art ranging from the stylish to the traditional, 10 professional photo frame styles, and a selection of stunning desk photo frames. Our professional printing services are second to none in the photography industry.

Contact lenses buyer guide

Spherical contact lenses have the same lens power throughout the entire optical part of the lens to correct myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness).

Contact lenses are small prescription lenses, worn in “contact” with the eye. They are designed to correct refractive errors and maintain ocular health. They float on the tear film layer on the surface of the cornea.

Modern contacts are much more than small eye glass lenses that fit onto your eyes. They do, however, function much like regular eye glasses-refracting and focusing light so that objects appear clearly. Since the lenses stick to the tear fluid on your eye surface, they move naturally with you. This is but one advantage contacts have over glasses. Read more about Korean contact lenses

Daily disposable contact lenses are fairly popular among contact wearers and favorable to maintaining healthy eyes. Although you may deem throwing out lenses wasteful, there are other things to consider. Protein, lipids, calcium, and bacteria can easily build up on your lenses. Your tears are a natural vessel for these substances and make your eyes disposed to infection. Cleaning is vital; however, some deposits will inevitably remain and build up over time.

Hybrid contact lenses. Hybrid contact lenses feature a hard, gas-permeable center surrounded by a soft outer ring. Hybrid contact lenses can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and age-related loss of close-up vision, as well as an irregular corneal curvature (keratoconus). You might consider hybrid contact lenses if you have trouble wearing traditional hard lenses.

Avoiding complications : Minimize contact with water and saliva. Remove your contact lenses before you swim or use a hot tub. Don’t put your lenses in your mouth to wet them.
